Ronnie liked to cook, and did it professionally when she lived in North Carolina.

From Ed Sawicki Jr: “I used to speak to Ronnie on the phone occassionally, but not often enough. We discussed her cooking adventures and recipes. She cooked for a religious order of priests or monks (I was never quite sure.) I'd sometimes tell her about a recipe of mine so she could tell me why it was unhealthy and suggest alternatives.

She expressed an interest in learning more about history that she paid inadequate attention to when in school. I referred her to the Stuff You Missed in History Class podcast and she'd tell me what she learned on our next call. I remember the day she told me she wasn't having any more heart surgeries—that her heart surgeon told her a surgery could extend her life, but she said she was tired of it. She knew her life was coming to an end.”

She died on November 22, 2016.
