He worked at Grumman Aerospace in Bethpage where his job involved the gold-color "tinfoil-like" material that served as heat reflectors on the Lunar Excursion Module (LEM). His cousin Dorothy's husband, Nick Eichler, also worked at Grumman on the LEM.

Later in life, Stan told his daughters stories about his younger years. He said he enjoyed stopping by for breakfast at his sister Joanne's house. He'd make her kids laugh. Ed Sawicki confirms this story, “Uncle Stanley would make us laugh while we were having breakfast. Mom would tell Stanley to stop; that he was making us late, and we had to get ready for school. But we didn't want him to stop.” Stan also said he had a close relationship to Joanne's husband Ed; that they were like brothers.

Stanley died on August 20, 2019.
