Phyllis Gozelski Meyer was born on October 24, 1933 to Lillian and John Gozelski. She attended St Philips elementary school and St Joseph's Academy in Brentwood on Long Island. She studied sociology and political science at Alfred University in Alfred, New York (near Hornell).

She got her teaching degree from Adelphi University in Garden City, NY, and taught kindergarten in Lindenhurst, New York.

Phyllis died on August 25, 2023. She would have been 90 years old. She will be buried in Saint Joseph's Cemetery along with her husband.

Joseph Louis “Doey” Meyer was born on August 29, 1929 in Hicksville, New York to parents Nicholas L and Edith C Meyer. He died on December 15, 2010 and is buried in Saint Joseph's Cemetery, Wayland, Steuben County, New York.

Phyllis and Joseph married on June 21, 1958 in Huntington, New York.
