Lillian Edwina Cowan was born on August 27, 1954 in East Northport, New York to parents Ben and Joan Cowan. She was baptized at St Anthony of Padua RC Church. Her godparents were cousins Elizabeth "Betty" Ann Pogozelski of New Hyde Park and Edwin Joseph Gozelski of Hornell, NY. She graduated from Northport High School in 1972, the same year she married.

Lillian died on November 9, 2021, and is buried in Saint Philip Neri Cemetery, East Northport.

Lillian married Richard Geer Coe at St Anthony of Padua RC Church on July 1, 1972. Phyllis Mary Cowan was maid-of-honor, and Michelle Margaret Cowan, Eileen Gozelski, and Melanie Meyer were bridesmaids. Rene Meyer was the flowergirl. Ben Cowan Jr and John Gozelski III were ushers. The reception was held at the Moose Hall in Greenlawn.
