Glenwood Country Club Airport
In 1912, the Wright Company setup a flying school in Glen Head on the grounds of the Glenwood Country Club. It had one aircraft, a Wright Model B equipped with floats. There was a ramp leading to Hempstead Harbor a few hundred feet from Bar Beach. It was closed after a few months due to lack of interest.

The Glenwood Country Club later became the North Shore Country Club, and Tappan Beach is now where the ramp used to be.
