This photo was taken at Edith Smith's wedding shower in 1948. She was marrying Anthony Pogozelski Jr, and would later be the mother of Linda Pogozelski Colgan O'Rear. Months ago, we asked, "How many of these women can you identify?"
It was a paper written by Nick Eichler (husband of Dorothy Pogozelski) and discovered by Linda that identified all of these women.

Notes
These notes help explain those women who are not well-known to us. If you have information about these women, please let us know: Vivian Hecker, Mrs Monuski, Mrs Shannon, Cele Stawecki, Mrs Wendt, and Mrs Weiss.
- Emma Kurz Boyle
- Emma Kurz married Gary Boyle in 1941. Ethel Kurz was most likely her sister-in-law. Emma's mother was Catherine Pogozelski, the sister of Anthony Pogozelski Sr.
- Marie Farina
- Aunt of Geraldine. Friend of the family. They lived in the same building as Anthony, Edith, and Linda. Linda and Geraldine became life-long friends.
- Toots Morton
- We think Toots Morton is Theresa E Strauss Morton, a grandchild of John Johann Strauss and Mary Marianne Kabaczinsk. John is the brother of Michael Strauss, the progenitor of the ancestral line that includes the Lubowieckis, Pogozelskis, Gozelskis, etc.
- Her presence at this wedding shower shows that the families of those two ancestral lines (John and Michael) were aware of each other and they engaged socially. That awareness would erode in following generations. In 2023, Ed Sawicki and BJ Sawicki O'Leary discovered that descendents of John and Mary had children who were going to school with BJ's son and had play dates together and all were unaware of the family connection.
